Ingredients list for Brownie

  • ¼ cup Dark chocolate melted
  • + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1 cup
  • for greasing Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ cup Yogurt
  • 1 cup Dates puree
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • ¾ cup Olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 cup Oats powder
  • For topping Walnuts chopped, ¼ cup +
  • 2-3 tablespoons Milk


  1. Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a square baking tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
  2. Sieve together flour, cocoa powder and baking powder into a bowl.
  3. Take yogurt and date puree in another bowl and mix. Add melted chocolate and vanilla essence and mix well.
  4. Add olive oil and whisk with an electric beater. Add castor sugar and whisk well.
  5. Add flour mixture to yogurt mixture along with oats powder and walnuts and fold. Add milk and mix well.
  6. Transfer the batter into the greased tin and level it out. Top with some walnuts.
  7. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould.
  8. Cut into squares and serve.
