Ingredients list for Banana Nut Loaf
- 3 Bananas
- + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1½ cups
- ½ cup Hazelnuts roasted and chopped
- ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- + for greasing Butter ½ cup
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- ½ cup Chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1½ teaspoons Baking powder
- a pinch Salt
- ¼ cup Milk
Method
- Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease a loaf tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
- Cream together castor sugar and butter in a bowl till light and fluffy. Add eggs, one by one, and beat well. Add vanilla essence and whisk well.
- Peel, mash bananas and add in the bowl. Mix well. Add chocolate-hazelnut spread and mix well.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt into the bowl and fold lightly. Add milk and mix well.
- Reserve some hazelnuts and add the remaining to the bowl and mix well into a batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin, tap a little and top with the reserved nuts. Put the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Remove from mould and cut into slices.
- Serve.
