Ingredients for Banana Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

  • Banana overripe 1

  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons

  • Chocolate chips 1/2 cup

  • Refined flour 1/4 cup + tablespoon

  • Egg 1

  • Castor sugar 1/4 cup

  • Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Milk 1/4 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Vanilla ice cream scoops For topping

  • Chocolate sauce for drizzling

  • Icing sugar for dusting

  • Fresh mint sprig for garnish

Method

Step 1

Peel and mash banana.

Step 2

Break egg in a large mug, add castor sugar and beat well.

Step 3

Mix together flour, baking powder and cocoa powder in a bowl.

Step 4

Add vanilla essence to the mug and beat. Add mashed banana and mix well.

Step 5

Add flour mixture, ¼ cup chocolate chips and oil and mix well. Add milk and mix well. Top with 2 tablespoons chocolate chips.

Step 6

Put the mug in the microwave and bake on HIGH for 90 seconds.

Step 7

Top with an ice cream scoop, drizzle chocolate sauce and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips. Dust icing sugar, garnish with mint sprig and serve.
