Ingredients list for Baby Uttapam

  • 2 cups Rice soaked
  • 1 cup Split Black Gram
  • to taste Salt
  • to cook Oil
  • For topping
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Green capsicum
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese grated


  1. Drain and grind urad till fine and fluffy.
    Transfer into a bowl.
  2. Drain and grind rice till smooth.
    And transfer it into the same bowl and mix the two batters well.
  3. Set aside in a warm place to ferment overnight.
    Add salt and whisk well.
  4. Heat a non stick dosa tawa and spread small amounts of batter into small uttapams keeping a little distance between each.
    Slice onion and sprinkle a little on each uttapam.
  5. Slice green capsicum and sprinkle a little on each uttapam. Slice tomato and sprinkle a little on each uttapam.
  6. Sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese on each.
    Drizzle a little oil around each, cover and cook on medium heat till they get cooked and the cheese melts.
    Serve hot.
