Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
- ¼ cup desiccated coconut
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup castor sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 tablespoon semolina
- A pinch of salt
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
Method
- Preheat oven to 180˚ C.
- Take butter in a mixing bowl, add castor sugar and beat together with an electric beater till light. Add vanilla essence and beat well.
- Add semolina and desiccated coconut. Sift together wheat flour and salt, add milk and beat well. Mix with your hand till well combined into a dough.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, shape into balls and flatten them slightly between your palms.
- Place them on a baking tray and lightly press a fork horizontally and vertically on each cookie to create a pattern.
- Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30. Remove from oven and cool.
- Keep them on a serving platter and serve.
