Ingredients for Apple Halwa - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Red apples grated 2 medium

  • Green apples grated 2 medium

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Saffron a pinch of

  • Almonds slivered + for garnish 2 tablespoons

  • Pistachios blanched, peeled and slivered + for garnish 2 tablespoons

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Khoya grated 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick wok, add grated apples and saute for 8-10 minutes or till almost all the moisture reduces. Add sugar and saffron, mix well and cook till the sugar dissolves completely and moisture evaporates.

Step 2

Add almonds, pistachios, green cardamom powder, khoya and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or till the khoya mixes well with the apple mixture. Take the pan off the heat.

Step 3

Transfer the halwa into a serving bowl, garnish with almonds and pistachios and serve warm.
