Ingredients list for Aloe Vera Rice Kheer
- 1 Aloe vera
- 3/4 cup Rice soaked
- a pinch Turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 10-12 Cashewnuts
- 5 cups Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- a few Saffron (kesar)
Method
- Cut the bottom portion of aloe vera and keep aside until the sticky juice is drained off. Remove the skin and cut into 1 inch cubes.
- Heat water in a deep non stick pan, add turmeric powder and aloe vera pieces. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain the aloe vera. Repeat this process 4 to 5 times
- Heat ghee in another non stick pan, add cashewnuts and sauté till golden. Add aloe vera pieces and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Drain and add rice and sauté. Add milk and cook, stirring continuously for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron and stir till the sugar dissolves. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot or cold as desired.
