Ingredients list for 5 Spice Chicken Skewers with Chilli Soy Sauce
- 3 Boneless chicken breasts
- 3 tablespoons Chilli sauce
- 1 tablespoon 5 spice powder
- 1 tablespoon Soy sauce 2 teaspoons +
- to taste Salt
- ½ cup Crushed black peppercorns
- ¼ cup Yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- for garnishing Sesame seeds (til) 2 tablespoons +
- for garnishing Fresh coriander sprigs a few
Method
- Cut chicken breasts lengthwise into one by three.
- Combine 2 teaspoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon chilli sauce, 5 spice powder, salt, crushed peppercorns and yogurt in a bowl and mix well.
- Put chicken pieces in the yogurt mixture, mix well and set aside to marinate for an hour.
- Skewer marinated chicken pieces onto bamboo skewers.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
- Top the chicken skewers with 2 tablespoons sesame seeds and place them on the pan. Cook, rotating the skewers, till the chicken is fully done all around.
- To make sauce, combine remaining chilli sauce and remaining soy sauce in a bowl and mix well.
- Garnish chicken with sesame seeds and coriander sprigs and serve hot with chilli-soysauce.
