Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Tangy Thyme Chicken Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts 2

  • Orange juice ½ cup + 1 teaspoon

  • Thyme sprigs 2,3 + for garnishing

  • Salt to taste

  • Fennel seeds (saunf) roasted and crushed 2 teaspoons

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Olive oil ½ tablespoon + 1 teaspoon

  • Honey 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1½ teaspoons

  • Orange segments for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Put ½ cup orange juice, salt, fennel seeds and pepper powder in a bowl. Add chicken, mix well and set aside to marinate for 1 hour.

Step 2

Preheat oven to 180ºC.

Step 3

Heat butter and ½ tablespoon olive oil in a non-stick pan. Place the marinated chicken in it and serr till light brown from both the sides.

Step 4

Put honey, pepper powder and fresh thyme in a bowl and mix well. Add red chilli powder and mix well. Add 1 teaspoon orange juice and 1 teaspoon olive oil and mix well.

Step 5

Place seared chicken on a baking tray, pour the honey mixture on top, put tray in preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes or till the chicken is fully cooked.

Step 6

Serve hot garnished with orange segments and thyme sprig.
