By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Readymade idli batter, Gun powder (molagapodi) Cuisine South Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 51-60 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Spot Idli as required Readymade idli batter 8 tablespo to sprinkle Gun powder (molagapodi) 8 teaspoon Oil 6 Green chillies chopped 4 Medium onions chopped 4 Medium tomatoes chopped to taste Salt to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped to serve Coconut chutney Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add green chillies and onion and sauté till translucent. Add tomato and mix well. Add salt, mix well and cook till tomato is pulpy. Add molagapodi, mix well and add ¼ cup water and mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer into a bowl. For each portion spread ¼ portion of the mixture evenly on the pan. Add salt to the idli batter and mix well. Pour a ladleful of batter over the onion-tomato mixture in 3 places keeping a little distance between each. Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes. Flip each idli, drizzle a little oil all around and cook for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle coriander leaves over them. Use up the remaining batter in the same way.
