Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Spice Cookie of the Salt Recipe

  • Wheat Flour 2 cups

  • Yogurt 2 tablespoons

  • Salt 2 tablespoons

  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Olive oil 1/3 cup

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Yogurt 7 tablespoons


Step 1

Preheat the oven at 160c. In a large bowl mix together atta, besan, salt, sugar and olive oil and mix with finger tips.

Step 2

Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and yogurt and mix well to form a dough. Divide into equal size balls.

Step 3

Press each ball between your palms lightly in such a way that every piece should be about one forth inch thickness and a diameter of one inch.

Step 4

Bake it in preheated oven for twenty five minutes or till it gets golden brown in color. Serve hot.
