Ingredients list for Simple Buns

  • 1 2/3 cups Refined flour (maida)
  • 3 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/2 small bunches Salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon Instant yeast
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 millilitres Milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Soft butter

Method

  1. Mix refined flour, sugar, salt and instant yeast in a bowl. Break egg into the bowl.
  2. Add milk and soft butter and knead into soft dough. Cover with a moist muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls and arrange in a 6 inch round greased cake tin. Cover with a moist muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes more.
  4. Preheat the oven at 180°C. Place the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-17 minutes.
  5. Take the oven out of the oven and allow to cool down to room temperature.
  6. Arrange the buns on a serving platter and serve.
