Ingredients list for Pumpkin Leaves Vada

  • 8-10 Pumpkin Leaves
  • 1 cup Urad dal
  • 3/4 cup Rice
  • 1 tablespoon Chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • a pinch Hing
  • 2 teaspoons Rice flour
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. Wash and dry the Pumpkin leaves

    Dry roast Urad dal and rice separately till golden brown
    once cooled grind to a fine powder
    To the powder add chilli powder, salt and Hing
    Add water little by little and make a paste (This paste needs to be applied on leaves, do not make running)
    Take each pumpkin leaves spread upside down, thru a ladle press on top of it so that leaf becomes flat. Apply a thin coat of Paste and place one more leaf on top it and apply the paste. Repeat the steps for all 8 leaves.
    Now roll the leaves tightly like a chapati roll. With a sharp knife cut into slices and dip in raw rice flour and deep fry in oil till golden brown
