The cuisine of The United States is a rich amalgamation of peoples, religions and cultures thanks to the immigrants from different parts of the world.  They brought with them their local ingredients as well as cooking styles with them.  Yet amidst all these varieties Chinese and Italian cuisines dominate.  
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Penne In Thousand Island Recipe

  • Penne(tubular Pasta) 1 cup

  • Oil to taste

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Carrot cut into 1 inch pieces 1 medium

  • Broccoli cut into florets 1/4 small

  • French beans cut into 1 inch pieces 3-4

  • Green capsicum cut into 1 inch pieces 1/2 medium

  • Onion quartered and layers separated 1 medium

  • Cherry tomatoes 10-12

  • Stuffed olives 4-5

  • Thousand island dressing 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Take sufficient water in a pan, add a little salt and bring it to a boil. Add penne pasta and cook for six to eight minutes on high heat or until almost cooked.

Step 2

Drain, remove and refresh penne with cold water. Spread on a plate with one tablespoon of oil.

Step 3

Heat sufficient water in a pan, add carrot, broccoli and french beans. Cook on medium heat for three to four minutes.

Step 4

Remove and refresh with cold water and drain of excess moisture. In a large salad bowl toss all the prepared vegetables along with pasta, cherry tomatoes and stuffed olives.

Step 5

Add Thousand Island dressing, lightly toss and serve cold.
