Ingredients for Pecan Pie Bars Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup

  • Chilled butter chopped ½ cup + for greasing

  • Salt ¼ teaspoon

  • Sugar ¼ cup

  • Milk 2 tablespoons

  • Eggs 2

  • brown sugar/jaggery ¼ cup

  • Corn syrup ½ cup

  • Melted butter 2 tablespoons

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Dark chocolate chips ¼ cup

  • Icing sugar for dusting

  • Pecans chopped 1 cups

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease a barfi tray with some butter.

Step 2

Take flour in a bowl. Add salt, sugar and chilled butter and mix with your fingertips till the mixture resembles bread crumbs.

Step 3

Add milk and mix with your hands to make a dough.Transfer into the greased tray, lightly press to level it out and dork with a fork. Place on a baking tray.

Step 4

Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 5

To prepare pecan filling, beat eggs in another bowl with an electric beater. Add brown sugar and whisk till it melts.

Step 6

Add corn syrup, melted butter and vanilla essence and mix. Add pecan and dark chocolate chips and mix well.

Step 7

Pour pecan mixture on top of baked crust, place the tray back into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 8

Cut into bars, dust icing sugar on top and serve.
