Ingredients for Paneer Lasooni Methi Recipe

  • Cottage cheese (paneer) cut into cubes 200 grams

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) leaves separated from stems 1 small bunches

  • Yogurt 1 cup

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Garam masala powder 3/4 tablespoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Gram flour 2 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

  • Saffron soaked in 2 tablespoons milk a pinch

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Onion paste 1 cup


Step 1

Take yogurt in a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, crushed black peppercorns, salt, gram flour, lemon juice, fresh cream and saffron milk and mix well.

Step 2

Add cottage cubes to this mixture, mix well and set aside.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, chopped garlic and onion paste, mix and sauté till onion turns a light brown.

Step 4

Add fenugreek leaves and mix well. Add salt and mix well.

Step 5

Add the cottage cheese mixture and mix well. Add some water and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve warm.
