Ingredients list for Paneer Lasooni Methi

  • 200 grams Cottage cheese (paneer) cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 small bunches Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) leaves separated from stems
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3/4 tablespoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Gram flour
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cream
  • a pinch Saffron soaked in 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup Onion paste

Method

  1. Take yogurt in a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, crushed black peppercorns, salt, gram flour, lemon juice, fresh cream and saffron milk and mix well.
  2. Add cottage cubes to this mixture, mix well and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, chopped garlic and onion paste, mix and sauté till onion turns a light brown.
  4. Add fenugreek leaves and mix well. Add salt and mix well.
  5. Add the cottage cheese mixture and mix well. Add some water and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve warm.
