Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 cups yogurt whisked
  • 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon msafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Fried curry leaves sprig for garnish

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida, split skinless black gram and broken dried red chillies and red chilli powder and sauté for a few seconds.
  2. Add tomatoes and mix well Add salt and toss for 1-2 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and set aside to cool completely.
  3. Take yogurt in a bowl, add the tomato mixture and adjust salt, mix till well combined.
    Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fried curry leaves sprig and serve chilled.
