History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Motichoor Muffin Recipe

  • Motichoor laddoos 2

  • Khoya/mawa crumbled 1 cup

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Dark chocolate broken 50 grams

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Pistachios blanched, peeled and sliced as required

  • Fresh cream 1/4 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat 2 non-stick pans. Put khoya in one pan, add sugar and cook till both melt and blend well.

Step 2

In the 2nd pan put broken dark chocolate and melt stirring continuously.

Step 3

Add cardamom powder to khoya and mix.

Step 4

Put a few pistachios in each silicon mould.

Step 5

Halve the motichoor laddoos and put one half in each silicon mould and press well to level the surface.

Step 6

Add cream to the melted chocolate and mix well. Pour the chocolate mixture over the laddoos in the moulds leaving a little space above. Keep them in the refrigerator to set.

Step 7

Once set bring the moulds out of the refrigerator and top with khoya mixture. Keep them back in the refrigerator to set.

Step 8

Alternately you can first pour the chocolate mixture in the moulds. Place half a motichoor laddoo and set. Then put khoya mixture and set.

Step 9

Serve chilled.
