Ingredients list for Mixed Vegetable Salad With Sesame Seed

  • 10-12 French beans
  • 1/4 small Sesame seeds shredded
  • 1/4 small Cauliflower,separated into florets
  • 1 small Carrots,cut into roundels
  • 2-3 slices Bamboo shoots
  • 1 small Cucumber,cut into roundels
  • 1/4 cup Bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 large Onions,sliced thinly
  • 4 cloves Garlic,sliced thinly
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (til)
  • 2 tablespoons White vinegar

Method

  1. Halve the French beans lengthwise and cut into one inch long pieces. Heat oil in a wok.
  2. Add turmeric powder, onions and garlic and sauté.
  3. Take French beans, cabbage, cauliflower, carrot and bamboo shoots in a bowl.
  4. Add salt and a little water and keep in the microwave oven on High for one and half minutes or till the vegetables soften.
  5. Toast the sesame seeds. Once the onions and garlic have browned drain them through a sieve and collect the remaining oil in a bowl.
  6. Transfer the onion and garlic into a bowl.
  7. Drain the vegetables and add ice cubes immediately in order to stop the carry on cooking and cool the vegetables.
  8. Once cooled drain the vegetables again. Add cucumber to the vegetables.
  9. Add salt, some of the strained oil and vinegar and mix.
  10. Add half the fried onion-garlic and mix everything well.
  11. Add the sesame seeds and mix.
  12. Serve immediately garnished with the bean sprouts and reserved onion-garlic mixture.
