Ingredients list for Kanch Kolar Bora

  • 2 Raw bananas boiled
  • 2 Medium potatoes boiled and peeled
  • 1 Small onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Poppy seeds
  • 4 teaspoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 Egg white
  • to shallow fry Oil
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Peel the bananas and put them in a bowl, add potatoes and mash them all together with your hand ensuring that there are no lumps. Add onion, green chillies, salt and poppy seeds and mix well. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Add egg white and mix well.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick shallow frying pan.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls and flatten them slightly.
  4. Place these boras in the pan and shallow-fry on medium heat, turning sides, till golden brown and crisp on both sides
  5. Transfer the boras on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
