Ingredients list for Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich

  • 2 Boneless chicken breasts
  • 3/4 cup Pineapple chopped
  • 4 Brown hot dog buns slit without cutting through
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • to taste Black pepper powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Dried thyme
  • as required Oil
  • 1 Large onion finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons Green capsicum finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • a few Iceberg lettuce leaves torn

Method

  1. Take chicken breasts in a bowl, add garlic, pepper powder, salt and thyme and mix well and set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat a sandwich griller. Brush with some oil, place the marinated chicken breasts on it, cover and grill till fully cooked.
  3. Mix together pineapple, onion, capsicum and mayonnaise in another bowl.
  4. Toast hot dog buns lightly. Shred grilled chicken.
  5. Place some lettuce leaves on the base halves of the buns, top with some pineapple mixture and some shredded chicken and cover with the top halves.
  6. Serve immediately.
