Ingredients list for Gunpowder Squid Rings

  • 2 tablespoons Gun powder
  • 6-8 medium Squids cut into rings
  • ½ tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Curry leaves chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch

Method

  1. Take the squid rings in a bowl. Add the garlic paste, curry leaves, lemon juice and salt, mix well and set aside to marinate for fifteen to twenty minutes.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  3. Coat each marinated squid ring with cornstarch and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Sprinkle gunpowder on top of fried squid rings while still hot.
  5. Serve hot.
