Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for French Fries - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Potatoes used for fries 3 large

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Peel potatoes and thickly slice them. Cut each slice into 2 inch fingers.

Step 2

Boil sufficient water in a non-stick deep pan, add salt and add the potato fingers and cook them till ¾ done. Drain on absorbent paper. Set aside to cool down to room temperature.

Step 3

Gently transfer into a zip-lock bag, seal and freeze.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep-fry the potato fingers till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Sprinkle salt on top of the French fries and toss gently.

Step 6

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
