Ingredients for Dark Chocolate And Banana Cake Recipe

  • Cocoa powder 1 cup

  • Banana chopped 4

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup

  • Baking powder 3 grams

  • Baking soda 3 grams

  • Eggs 2

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 cup

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Rum 2 tablespoons

  • Clarified butter 1 cup

  • Butter 60 grams

  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Whipped cream (with sugar) 1 cup

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Sieve together maida, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and castor sugar. Whisk till the mixture becomes light, fluffy and creamy.

Step 3

Add milk and 1 tbsp rum and whisk well. Add clarified butter and whisk. Slowly add the maida and cocoa powder mixture and whisk well. Cover the lower portion of a loose bottom cake tin with an aluminium foil.

Step 4

Pour the batter into the cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-20 minutes. Take it out of the oven and set aside to cool for a while. Melt butter in a non-stick pan. Then add brown sugar and cook till the sugar becomes soft.

Step 5

Add remaining rum and banana pieces and cook till the banana pieces become soft. Cut the cake into two pieces horizontally. Place the lower half of the cake in a plate and spread half the whipped cream and half the banana sauce over it. Place the other h
