Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Creamy Garlic Butter Prawns Recipe

  • Medium prawns peeled and deveined with tails intact 12-16

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh spinach leaves 12-16

  • Large white onion finely chopped 1

  • Milk 3/4 cup

  • Sun dried tomatoes cut into strips 3

  • Dried Italian herbs 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • White wine 3/4 cup

  • Cornflour 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Parmesan cheese grated 1 cup

  • Fresh parsley chopped 2 teaspoon for garnish

  • Spaghetti boiled to serve


Step 1

Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté till fragrant. Add spinach leaves, mix and cook till the leaves wilt.

Step 2

Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent. Add prawns, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Add milk, tomatoes and Italian herbs, mix well and simmer for 1-2 minutes or till the sauce thickens.

Step 4

Add white wine, cornflour and cheese, mix well and cook till the prawns are fully done. Add parsley and mix well.

Step 5

Garnish with parsley and serve hot with spaghetti.
