Ingredients list for Classic Pound Cake

  • 2 cups Refined Flour
  • 1 cup (400gms) Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 100 grams Almonds sliced
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Method

  1. Preheat oven at 180°C.
  2. Take Milkmaid in a bowl. Add butter and whisk well.
  3. Add baking soda and whisk well. Add 75 ml water and whisk again.
  4. Add refined flour and vanilla essence and whisk well.
  5. Reserve some almond slices and add remaining in the bowl. Mix well into a smooth batter.
  6. Pour batter into a silicon mould and tap lightly. Add the reserved almond slices.
  7. Put the mould in the preheated oven and bake for 25-28 minutes.
  8. Remove mould from oven and demould the cake. Set aside for ½ an hour.
  9. Cut into slices, place on a serving platter and dust icing sugar on top.
  10. Serve.
