Ingredients for Chocolate And Prune Cake Recipe

  • Prunes chopped 125 grams

  • Refined flour 125 grams

  • Cocoa powder 25 grams

  • Butter 100 grams

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 125 grams

  • Vanilla essence a few

  • Orange juice 2 tablespoons

  • Eggs 3

  • Whole wheat flour (atta) 112.5 grams

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Buttermilk 1 cup

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Grease an aluminium cake tin with butter and dust with a little flour.

Step 3

Whisk butter and sugar in a bowl till light and fluffy.Add vanilla essence and mix again.

Step 4

Mix prunes and orange juice and add this to butter mixture and mix well.

Step 5

Break eggs one by one and add and mix well.

Step 6

Sift together refined flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and cocoa powder into butter mixture and mix well. Add buttermilk and mix again.

Step 7

Pour batter into the prepared aluminium cake tin and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove and let the cake cool.

Step 8

Slice and serve.
