Ingredients list for Chocolate And Prune Cake

  • 125 grams Prunes chopped
  • 125 grams Refined flour
  • 25 grams Cocoa powder
  • 100 grams Butter
  • 125 grams Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • a few Vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons Orange juice
  • 3 Eggs
  • 112.5 grams Whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Grease an aluminium cake tin with butter and dust with a little flour.
  3. Whisk butter and sugar in a bowl till light and fluffy.Add vanilla essence and mix again.
  4. Mix prunes and orange juice and add this to butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Break eggs one by one and add and mix well.
  6. Sift together refined flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and cocoa powder into butter mixture and mix well. Add buttermilk and mix again.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared aluminium cake tin and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove and let the cake cool.
  8. Slice and serve.
