Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Cheese Potli-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken boiled and shredded 150 grams

  • Cheddar cheese grated 3 tablespoons

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 3 tablespoons

  • Refined flour (maida) dough with carom seeds (ajwain 200 grams

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Fresh basil leaves shredded 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Refined flour (maida) for dusting

  • Oil to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Mix together chicken, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns, basil leaves and salt in a bowl.

Step 2

Dust the worktop with some flour, place the dough on it and roll out into a large disc.

Step 3

Keep a medium sized cookie cutter over the disc and cut out discs.

Step 4

Keep some chicken mixture in the centre of each disc, brush the edges with some water, gather the edges together and shape into potlis. Press the edge to seal.

Step 5

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry potlis till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
