Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Bread Pot - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into 1/2 inch cubes 400 grams

  • Brown bread loaves halved 2

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Refined flour 1 tablespoon

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Fresh thyme 2 sprigs

  • Fresh oregano 1 sprigs

  • Processed cheese grated 3/4 cup

  • Eggs 4

  • Red cherry tomatoes to garnish

  • Fresh parsley 4 sprigs to garnish


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add refined flour, mix well and sauté on medium heat till the mixture is lightly coloured.

Step 3

Add milk, mix well so that no lumps form. Cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add chicken cubes, salt, crushed black peppercorns, thyme and oregano and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.

Step 5

Add cheese and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes and take it off heat.

Step 6

Scoop out some bread from the centre of each bread half to make a cavity. Keep the cut out bread pieces aside.

Step 7

Fill ⅔ of the cavity with chicken mixture, put out small pieces of the cut out bread over the chicken mixture. Put some more chicken mixture in the cavity.

Step 8

Keep the stuffed bread halves on a baking tray. Break an egg on top of each bread half. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes.

Step 9

Garnish each bread half with red cherry tomatoes and a sprig of fresh parsley. Serve hot.
