Ingredients list for Bombay Halwa
- 1 cup Cornflour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- a pinch Cream of tartar
- a few drop Edible food colour
- 1/2 cup Mixed nuts , chopped
- a pinch Green cardamom powder
Method
- Take cornflour in a bowl and add 1½ cups water and whisk well.
- Heat a non-stick pan, add sugar and ¾ cup water and let the mixture come to a boil, stirring continuously. Add cornflour mixture, mix well and cook on medium heat.
- As the mixture thickens, add cream of tartar and mix well, stirring continuously.
- Add ghee, little by little, stirring continuously, till the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Add food colour, nuts and cardamom powder and mix well.
- Pour this mixture into a casserole and set aside to cool. Once cooled cut into squares and serve.
