Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Anar Raita - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Small pomegranate pearls removed 1

  • Yogurt 2 cups

  • Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 pinch + to sprinkle

  • Black salt to taste


Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and dry roast till they turn dark and fragrant. Transfer into a mortal and crush lightly with a pestle.

Step 2

Take most of the pomegranate pearls in a mixing bowl, add yogurt, coriander leaves, chilli powder, black salt and most of the crushed cumin seeds. Mix well. Refrigerate till serving.

Step 3

Serve chilled garnished with remaining pomegranate pearls and sprinkle remaining crushed cumin seeds and chilli powder.
