Ingredients
- 6-8 fresh hibiscus flowers
- ¾ cup cranberry juice
- 2 inch cinnamon
- 1 star anise
- ½ cup sugar
- Ice cubes as required
- Lemon slices as required
- Drinking soda as required
- Fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Method
- Heat sugar, ¼ cup water and cranberry juice in a non-stick pan. Cook till the mixture thickens. Set aside to cool completely.
- To make the spiced hibiscus mixture, heat 4 cups water in a deep pan. Add hibiscus flower, break the cinnamon stick and add into it. Add star anise and mix well. Cook till the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for 4-5 minutes. Strain the mixture into a jar and set aside to cool completely.
- Put some ice cubes in a serving glass. Pour a portion of cranberry sugar syrup, arrange a few lemon slices, pour a portion of hibiscus mixture and top it with drinking soda. Garnish with mint sprig and serve immediately.
