Ingredients for Walnut And Spice Cake Recipe

  • Walnut kernels broken 1 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 cups + 2 tablespoons

  • Nutmeg powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon

  • Clove powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Butter 100 grams

  • Sugar Free 30 measure

  • Eggs 2

  • Soda bicarbonate 1 teaspoon

  • Salt 1/2 teaspoon

  • Raisins 1/2 cup

  • Milk 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180ºC/ 350ºF/Gas Mark 4. Grease a nine-inch loaf tin. Cream butter until soft. Add Sugar Free and blend these ingredients until they are fluffy.

Step 2

Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift flour with clove powder, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, soda bicarbonate and salt. Stir the sifted ingredients into the butter mixture in about three parts alternately with thirds of the raisins and walnuts. Add milk and mix.

Step 3

Transfer the batter into the greased loaf tin. Bake in the preheated oven for about an hour. Let the cake cool in the tin for some time before turning it onto the wire rack. Slice and serve.
