Ingredients list for Waffles

  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 3/4 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • a pinch Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2-3 tablespoons Honey + for serving
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Method

  1. Heat a waffle iron.Break eggs into a bowl and beat well with an electric beater. Sieve together refined flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt into the beaten eggs.
  2. Add half the buttermilk and mix. Add the remaining buttermilk and whisk well ensuring that there are no lumps.
  3. Add honey and whisk again to mix. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and mix again to make a smooth batter.
  4. Grease the waffle iron with oil. Pour the batter on it, cover and cook, checking in between, till golden brown on both sides.
  5. Cut into triangles and serve immediately drizzled with honey.
