Ingredients list for Vanilla Cake Sponge
- for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1 cup +
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- for greasing Butter softened, 1 cup +
- 1 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 3 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- as required Milk
Method
- Preheat oven to180ºC. Grease a baking tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
- Cream together butter and sugar in a bowl with an electric beater till smooth.
- Add vanilla essence and eggs, one by one, beat well.
- Sieve flour into the mixture. Add baking powder and fold in till well combined. Add milk and mix well into a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin, level it and tap. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove from heat and cool down to room temperature.
- Serve or use as required.
