Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup butter for greasing
- 1½ cups refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 5 eggs
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1½ cups whipped cream
Method
- Preheat oven to 180ºC. Grease a baking tray with butter.
- Sift refined flour and baking powder into a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar in another bowl till fluffy. Break eggs and add. Add vanilla essence and beat till well combined.
- Add the flour mixture and mix well.
- Pour the prepared batter onto the baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for thirty to thirty five minutes. Prick the cake with a fork and cool down to room temperature.
- Put milk in the third bowl, add condensed milk and mix well. Pour the milk mixture over the baked cake.
- Transfer the milk cake onto a serving plate, spread whipped cream evenly over it. Keep in the refrigerator for thirty minutes.
- Serve chilled.
