And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Tahini Mashed Potatoes Recipe

  • Potatoes boiled peeled and mashed 3-4 medium

  • Tahini 2 tablespoons

  • Olive oil 3 tablespoons

  • Onions chopped 2 medium

  • Cumin powder roasted 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder ½ tsp + to srpinkle

  • Garlic cloves crushed 5-6

  • Fresh cream 2-3 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • White sesame seeds (safed til) toasted 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan, add onions and sauté.

Step 2

Put mashed potatoes in a bowl.

Step 3

Add cumin powder, red chilli powder and freshly crushed garlic to the pan and sauté. Add this to the potatoes and mix. Add tahini and mix well. Add cream and mix well. Add salt and mix well.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture into a serving plate, sprinkle sesame seeds and a little red chilli powder and serve warm or cold.
