Ingredients list for Stewed Oranges with Icecream

  • 16 Oranges Small small
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 2 two-inch Cinnamon sticks
  • as required Vanilla ice cream

Method

  1. Cook 2 cups sugar in 2 liters water in a deep non-stick pan. Add bay leaves, black peppercorns, cloves and cinnamon.
  2. Prick the oranges with a toothpick and add to pan and cook for 3-4 hours.
  3. Cool and store in a glass jar.
  4. For serving, place an orange in a serving bowl. Top it with 1 scoop of ice cream and serve.
