Spinach and Cheese Pie

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup spinach, blanched and chopped
  • 50 grams of processed cheese grated
  • 1 baked pie shell
  • ¾ cup fresh cream
  • 1 egg
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

Method

  1. Take cream, egg, salt and black pepper powder in a bowl and beat with a fork.
  2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and onion and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Add spinach and salt and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add salt and pepper powder and mix well.
  4. Add cheese and mix well. Set aside to cool down.
  5. Preheat oven to 180˚C.
  6. Keep the pie shell in a pie tin. Transfer the spinach mixture into it. Top with the cream-egg mixture.
  7. Keep the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Take the pie out of the tin and keep it on a serving plate. Serve.
