Ingredients list for Rice Packets In Banana Leaf
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- 4 Banana Leaves
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 medium Onions chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger chopped
- 2 small Carrots finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Whole green grams (sabut moong) cooked
- 2 tablespoons Pickle masala
- to taste Salt
Method
- Heat oil in non stick pan, add onions and sauté for 1 minute. Add ginger and carrots, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Add moong and toss. Add pickle masala and mix well. Add rice and mix well. Add salt, mix and cook for 1 minute. Switch off heat.
- Soften banana leaves from both sides by keeping them on open flame for a second.Place a portion of rice mixture on one side of a leaf and roll. Seal ends by inserting toothpicks at both sides. Prepare remaining packets similarly.
- Heat non stick pan. Place packets on it and cook for a while, flip and cook on the other side too. Open and serve hot.
