Ingredients list for Red Velvet Cheese Cake Brownie

  • 1 cup Cream cheese
  • 1 cup + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
  • few drop cochineal colour
  • ½ cup + for greasing Butter
  • 1 cup + 3 tablespoons Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • ¼ cup Cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla essence
  • a pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Egg yolk


  1. Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease an 8-inch baking tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
  2. Cream together butter and 1 cup castor sugar in a bowl with an electric beater.Add cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, cochineal and salt and whisk. Add vinegar and whisk well.
  3. Break in eggs and whisk. Add flour and whisk well. Transfer ¾ of batter into the greased baking tin,reserving the remaining,and level it out.
  4. Take cream cheese in another bowl. Add 3 tablespoons castor sugar, remaining vanilla essence and egg yolk and whisk with an electric beater.
  5. Put the cream cheese mixture on top of the batter and level it out. Spread remaining batter on top.
  6. Place the tin on the baking tray. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould.
  7. Serve.
