Pumpkin Seed Cookies

Roasted pumpkin seeds give these cookies a wonderful flavour and a delicious crunch. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Pumpkin Seed Cookies

  • ¾ cup Pumpkin seeds
  • 2 cups Refined flour (maida)
  • ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika smoked
  • ¾ cup brown sugar/jaggery
  • 1 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ cup Chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 180º C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Dry roast pumpkin seeds till golden. Set aside to cool.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon powder and paprika into a bowl and mix well.
  4. Cream together brown sugar, castor sugar and butter in another bowl till fluffy.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat again. Add the flour mixture, gradually, and fold in well.
  6. Add chocolate chips and roasted pumpkin seeds and mix well.
  7. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and place on the lined tray, keeping some gap in between.
  8. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  9. Serve or store in an air tight container.
