Ingredients list for Popeye Pulao
- 1 cup Rice soaked and drained
- 250 grams Spinach
- 1½ teaspoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 medium Onion sliced
- 6 cloves Garlic crushed
- 1 Green chilli sliced
- to taste Salt
Method
- Blanch the spinach leaves in hot water for 2 minutes. Drain and puree. Set aside.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick deep pan, add the cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add the onion and garlic and sauté till translucent.
- Add the spinach puree and sauté for about five minutes. Add the rice, green chilli, salt and two cups of water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer till the rice is done.
- Serve hot.
