Ingredients list for Pecan Pie Bars
- 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
- ½ cup + for greasing Chilled butter chopped
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Milk
- 2 Eggs
- ¼ cup brown sugar/jaggery
- ½ cup Corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons Melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- ¼ cup Dark chocolate chips
- for dusting Icing sugar
- 1 cups Pecans chopped
Method
- Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease a barfi tray with some butter.
- Take flour in a bowl. Add salt, sugar and chilled butter and mix with your fingertips till the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
- Add milk and mix with your hands to make a dough.Transfer into the greased tray, lightly press to level it out and dork with a fork. Place on a baking tray.
- Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- To prepare pecan filling, beat eggs in another bowl with an electric beater. Add brown sugar and whisk till it melts.
- Add corn syrup, melted butter and vanilla essence and mix. Add pecan and dark chocolate chips and mix well.
- Pour pecan mixture on top of baked crust, place the tray back into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Cut into bars, dust icing sugar on top and serve.
