Ingredients list for Pavakkai Varuvval
- 2 medium Bitter gourd (karela)
- 1 teaspoon Tamarind paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- to deep fry Oil
Method
- Cut the karelas into thin slices and place in a plate.
- Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Wash them thoroughly and drain on absorbent paper.
- Transfer onto a plate. Add red chilli powder, tamarind paste and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep fry the karela slices till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Transfer on a serving plate, add salt and mix well. Serve hot.
