Ingredients list for Patra And Potato Pakoras

  • 4 medium Colocassia leaves
  • 6 medium Potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 6 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 3-4 Green chillies finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • to deep fry Oil


  1. Wash the arbi leaves and cut the thick stems off. Cut each into three triangular pieces. Mix mashed potatoes with garlic, green chillies, salt, half of the turmeric powder and lemon juice.
  2. Divide into twelve portions. Make a batter of gram flour, salt and remaining turmeric powder using water as required to make a batter of medium consistency.
  3. Place a portion of the potato filling in the center of a piece of leaf, fold in the sides and shape into a desired shape like a roll or a samosa. Dip in the batter and deep fry in hot oil till brown and crisp.
  4. Remove and drain onto an absorbent paper. Serve hot.
