Ingredients list for Paneer Tawa Masala

  • 200 grams Cottage cheese (paneer) cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 Medium tomato chopped
  • 1/2 cup Tomato puree
  • 2-3 Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 cup Green capsicum chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • to garnish Fresh coriander sprig

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, onion, salt and ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté till translucent.
  2. Add tomato, mix well and saute till tomato turns pulpy. Add tomato puree and mix.
  3. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, add green chillies and green capsicum, mix well and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well. Add ½ cup water and mix. Add salt, mix and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add cottage cheese cubes and mix well. Add lemon juice, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve warm.
