Open Mushroom Sandwich

Ingredients list for Open Mushroom Sandwich

  • 400 grams Mushrooms sliced
  • 8 Brown Bread Slices
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Processed cheese grated

Method

  1. Heat the butter in a non-stick pan and sauté the onions till they are translucent.
  2. Add the green chilli and sauté for a few seconds. Add the mushrooms, oregano and salt.
  3. Cook for a few minutes on very high heat until the mushrooms soften.
  4. Divide into eight equal portions and keep aside.
  5. Apply butter on bread slices. Heat a non-stick tawa and toast the bread slices till they are golden on both the sides.
  6. Top each toast with a portion of the mushroom mixture and grated cheese.
  7. Place the toasts on a plate and toast in microwave HIGH (100%) for one minute.
  8. Remove from microwave and cool.
  9. Cut each toast into triangles, garnish with the parsley and serve immediately.
