Ingredients list for Olive Tapenade

  • 15-20 Black olives pitted
  • Olive oil
  • 6-8 Fresh basil leaves
  • 8-10 cloves Garlic
  • to taste Sea salt
  • 1 cup Olive oil
  • To Serve
  • 1-2 loaves French bread

Method

  1. Slice the olives and remove the seeds. Put them in a grinder.
  2. Add fresh basil leaves, garlic, sea salt, half the olive oil (preferably cold pressed extra virgin olive oil) and grind to a smooth paste. Add the remaining olive oil and mix.
  3. This can be used as a dip or a salad dressing.
  4. Cut diagonal slices of French bread, spread some tapenade over it and serve.
