Ingredients list for Masala Peanut Onion Rings
- 4-5 medium Onions sliced into roundels and rings separated
- 1 cup Masala peanuts
- 1 cup Cornflakes
- 1/2 cup Refined flour (maida)
- 2 tablespoons Cornflour
- to taste Salt
- for deep-frying Oil
- to sprinkle Red chilli powder
- to sprinkle Chaat masala
Method
- Coarsely grind peanuts. Add cornflakes and grind into a fine powder. Transfer the powder into a bowl.
- Mix refined flour and cornflour in another bowl. Add water, little by little, and whisk well till you get a smooth thick batter of coating consistency. Add salt and whisk again.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Dip the onion rings, one by one, in the batter till they are coated evenly. Roll in the peanut-cornflakes powder and slide into the hot oil. Deep-fry in till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Sprinkle red chilli powder and chaat masala over them and serve hot.
